Literature Chair Report

I have missed the last two meetings due to illness and my husband's back surgery.

I assisted the Ni-O Area in the preparation and presentation of a Learning Day, which was held on April 18, 2008 in Lockport, New York. The event was very successful. This is the first Learning Day that Ni-O area has had in a very long time. They are now planning on having a Learning Day twice a year.

I am still working toward a Regional Learning Day. However, with all of the activities being presented by Areas, Convention Committee, Recovery in the Woods and Home Groups, I believe that this event would be better attempted after the convention in the fall.

In loving service,

Jeanne Johnson
Regional Literature Chair

RCM REPORT FOR THE NIAGARA FALLS AREA

Opening bal: for May $598.75
Closing bal: for May $

Our Car Workshop held in April was not supported by GSR's in the area.
RCM brought pizza, wings, beverages, plates, forks, and napkins plus rent totaling $94.36, leaving a balance of $5.64 from the $100.00 Region presented to RCM.
Receipts attached.

A question was asked because of a discrepancy in the Area Meeting, can a person hold more than one position if the position has voting rights. (ie) Chair of phone line represent self also as GSR of his Home group. We couldn't find anything in our bylaws.

RCM took info as far as positions Open on the Area level. Melvin nominated Cedric S for RD Alt.

Nothing else to report

Regional Committee Report R.C.M. Ken Perry Chautauqua Area

Hello family,

For the most part all is doing well. We did look into the problem pertaining to our check. The reason it was returned was due to the fact that there was not two signatures on it. There was discussion on the $20.00 check fee charged to region and was voted not to pay that amount. I do have a replacement check in the amount of $425.00.

I also was contacted by the Convention Events committee to set up a fund raiser witch we are working on. We also have an picnic coming up on June 7m at JCC Community College from II :00 to 5:00.

Our current treasurery balance is $118.42.

Thank you, in loving service, Ken Perry R.C.M. Ph. 969-9923

No changes to the hrp being recommended .
Greg S started this session. Greg introduced the members of the HRP, which are Sergio and Mindy. They had some of there presentation on a slide show. There was a 30-40 minute presentation of the HRP process, from members of the World Pool who fill out the new two page World Pool Information Form. There are currently 970 members in the World Pool. To be in the World Pool you must have 5 years clean time. 8 year clean time requirements are for the HRP and Conference Co Facilitator. The WB is a 10 year clean time requirement. The candidates are chosen by a point system. This process for the HRP is a blind screening process (they don't know who the candidates are who are going for these positions for the WSC) The Region, Board, Zone (RBZ) candidates are not done by a blind screening process. These are candidates who are nominated by the WB, Regions and Zones.
Questions were then asked to the HRP that were dropped in the HRP questions box at the WSC by the conference participants. Also, conference participants asked questions to the HRP.
